Mr Teshil Prashin Gangaram

Our 5th selected young explorer is Teshil Prashin Gangaram.

Teshil is from Mauritius but is living and studying at the University of Singapore.

Teshil`s initial experience and qualification is the reason I have selected him for the opportunity to participate in the training and the selection of our young explorers. Some of Teshil`s achievements are outlined below:

  • A 25 day technical mountaineering course in Indian Himalaya in May 2009 (with load of more than 20kg):
  • Knots, walking on snow, self and crevasse rescue, Prussiking, belaying, ice climbing, abseiling, altitude cooking, knowledge of mountain weather, danger and sickness and peaks summitted during technical Mountaineering course:
  • Climbed Mt Shitidhar (5294m)
  • Climbed Mt Friendship (5286m)
  • Second longest expedition: 5 days Gunung Tahan in Malaysia (2187m) with 25kg load
  • Has done several other non-altitude climbs and hikes; and
  • Certified by the Royal Life Saving Society (Singapore) to do CPR and also completed a course of mental First Aid.
