Unfortunately one of our team members and a good friend has passed away.

John Evans
our teacher, from whom we learned many aspects of mountaineering, slipped off a cliff in Wales several days ago and fell to his death. Unfortunately every medical assistance John received after his rescue failed and we lost a very humbled partner and friend.

John will be dearly missed by everyone in the mountaineering and expedition community and especially by the Antarctic Team and management of the Antarctic Challenge.

The team is saddened by his loss but this will give us even more reason to push on with our expedition in memory of John. John will always be part of this expedition and we will remember him in a special way.

We would like to pass on our condolences to his partner Lynne, his family and all his friends John assisted to experience the most exhilarating nature many can only dream about.

We dearly miss you John and you will always be in our memory"
